Also have to wonder if the report that he might not want to stay for a rebuild was from his agent and has a high degree of truth and that the Flames may need to look for ways to trade him.

Is it just a streak though? Outside of a few weeks to end last season and a handful of games this season, I feel like Kadri has played up to expectations.
I didn't think he was ever going to be a ppg center here, but I did expect a play driving second line center with edge and I feel like that's exactly what we're getting. He earned that All Star nod last season with his great first half too.
I'm as critical as anyone on Brad Treliving, but Kadri was not a bad target. Trading the 1st to move Monahan's contract without a doubt sucks, but Kadri's been more good then bad and I think GMs would be happy to add him to their team with some retention. If the Flames can nab a 1st back + some extra pieces, the acquisition could be relatively salvageable.
