In this season and last Garland has 51 points in his last 96 games. (0.53 PPG)
Monahan had 51 points in his last 115 games as a Flame (0.44 PPG)
Garland doesn't have the injury concerns but nobody seems to be lining up to take that contract.
I actually like the player too and would have no issue taking him on, but it doesn't feel like NHL GMs agree.

Garland, small soft winger who puts up same PPG as a scoring center and has two more years left on his contract. Let the Canucks figure him out with someone else, just grab picks and prospects from them if they want defensive help. If they can find some way to add 3 or 4 million for a dman and keep Garland great. If not trade him without a sweetener, best of luck.
