Yeah, the difference maker for the NDP wasn't the suggestion of a corporate tax hike. It was apathetic voters who put their votes on auto-pilot. They saw $100/bbl and didn't know about the APP, renewables or AHS destruction beforehand (and that was by design by the UCP because they knew it would cannibalize their voting support). Look at the recent polls with the NDP ahead of the UCP. Again.
Also, to think that that companies making record profits in Alberta get sympathy from average voters for a modest take hike back up to where it was a couple of years ago really is disrespectful to Albertans here. I don't think there's that many people who simp for their beloved corporations and take political action so they can have lower tax rates, even though said corporations will fire them with ease due to natural market whims (Suncor, TC, and a boatload of others).
