C4L is right. I remember trading off guys like Bouwmeester and Iginla despite the underwhelming returns was so exciting just because I felt a new era was coming. One where exciting young players would come in and bring in skill and motivation. I knew the team wouldn't win right away but they would try every night and bring excitement. Turns out they started winning sooner than later because Johnny was ready for the jump at the same time as Monahan was drafted + the UFA signing of Hudler.
This thing can turn around quicker than you may think if Conroy plays his cards right
