So if the market was soft, why didn’t Conroy show patience with Toffoli? Why make that trade if they weren’t getting what they wanted? They could certainly use his goal scoring ability (I think they got what they wanted…they got a player and pick for “now”).
I just think once a player goes public, it’s over. He’s off the team. Flames should have played Gilbert tonight.
Sure, if the offers are terrible - don’t rush it. Just have him sitting out. Sit him out for a week as you try to negotiate a trade, and if it doesn’t come then go back to the player and ask how he’d like to proceed.
