The agent can try to pressure Conroy for a trade but Conroy hold the cards on when a deal happens, and a deal only happens when the return is right. That hasn't changed at all.

I have a hard time believing that GMs around the NHL are shocked by this news at all. It is likely the agent already spread the news around people in the know already and even if he didn't it isn't shocking that an older, upcoming UFA on a team in the bottom 5 of the league that missed the play-off the year before wants a trade.
