I am personally fine with the unintended consequences, though I suspect the UFAs being fine with being traded is not considered a bad thing by Conroy. I would love to see them do the following
1) trade all pending for draft picks or prospects 23 years of age or younger. If there is a market for vets on the team that are not UFAs explore that as well
2) in the off-season sign Wolf, Ruzicka and Pospisil to as much term as possible. Sign Dube short term. Use the rest of the cap space to trade for bad contracts and accumulate picks.
3) in 24/25 try to continue to trade vets for picks and prospects. If possible trade some of the bad contracts you picked up for more picks and prospects.
See where you are at after 24/25. In that offseason try to sign Coronato and Zary to as much term as possible (could actually do that this upcoming offseason too). Evaluate where you are at after 24/25 to determine next steps.
I view the zadorov need as good news as it potentially sets step one in motion.
