Conroy said he wasn’t going to let assets leave for free. That’s on record.
That being the case he likely is having discussions with other teams, or at least he will be. Otherwise he’s probably talking contract extension which evidently isn’t happening.
Whether the trade happens at the deadline or beforehand isn’t relevant. It is a dock move because he’s now made the situation all that more awkward. If offers drop because of this, what incentive is there for Conroy to trade him now?
