Some Flames fans were optimistic that the Flames would be better this year; some weren't. Pretty much everyone around the Flames were on a wait and see mode and most were team rebuild after the first 10 games. I would say that almost everyone is still waiting to see what the Flames are as a team or what moves they will do for the long term. Zero people are looking at the Flames as a team that is going to do damage right now.
If you can't enjoy the absolute downfall of the Oilers, then you are not having fun as a Flames fan.

This right here is why it is soooo sweet this year. If they started this year with humility or cautious optimism we would all still be laughing, but it wouldn't be
as great. Instead they boldly declared Cup or Bust, apparently not realizing that there are 2 options there, and all the analysts and media and personalities doubled down on it, basically guaranteeing them to win the division and many declaring them the 2024 cup winners.
Meanwhile, down here, where even outside this thread, we looked at the actual build of their roster and concluded that it just wasn't any good. They lacked all the parts they needed for success outside of 2 players, and they ran on historic highs last year on the PP plus personal success. Only in No-Goodland can you have players have career years, and then go all in on that being the new minimum level of play they will have.
