Ah, Bromley.....In no particular order:

- my next door neighbor's brother was a crackhead, and decided to go swinging from balcony to balcony to break into apartments looking for money...this was on the twentieth floor. He eventually holed up in an empty suite, claiming he had a gun, prompting a standoff with police and police dogs

- riding up the elevator on the way home from work with two forensics guys in full hazmat suits...two sisters OD'ed in their apartment, and rotted for several weeks before the landlord acted on complaints of bad smells in the hallway. Even better was listening to the maintenance guy describe how the one girl died in the bathtub, and her flesh stuck to the tub, and peeled away from her when they tried to remove her. Management wanted him to simply re-finish the tub, but he refused.

- One stampede, a dude jumped down the garbage chute on a dare, and broke his leg landing in the dumpster at the bottom. What he didn't know, is that the compactor is pressure activated, and he was crushed to death before he could crawl out.

- walking past a Honda parked out front, marked off with police tape, riddled in bullet holes

- watching bum fights outside the Seed from your balcony. Throwing ice-cubes at the bums to get them to shut up

- the guy that severed his leg stunting on his motorcycle on 11th Ave was pretty gruesome, there was a small river of blood running down the storm sewer

-There were several jumpers during my stay there. During the rental crush back in the late nineties, it was funny, cause there would be no vacancies, someone would jump, and you'd see the sign outside the next day advertising suites for rent.

- As others have noted, endless problems with hot water. Leaks in general were a pain in the ass, our ceiling leaked several times, and one of our heating pipes also burst.

- we had a pantie thief on our floor, it happened to one of my neighbors a couple of times, which was kinda creepy

- one of my neighbors would get into screaming matches with her parrot...yes, her parrot. Apparently it spoke to her.

- the "cat fee"...if you wanted to own a cat, you had to pay a fee of something like $200, non-refundable. No explanation as to why

- variable rate parking...everyone paid something different for parking, it was amazing how much we paid compared to others

- the hot tub in the "gym"... I won't get into the perversity I head about that thing.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Definitely an interesting place, but all in all, I still remember it fondly, it was a fun place to live when you were young and crazy.
