This is Lindholm's 3rd season as the Flames #1 Centre. Prior to 21/22, he was primarily a RW.
Here is Lindy over the last three years with his most common linemates.
2021-22: Gaudreau (115 points) - Lindholm (82 points) - Tkachuk (104 points)
Line details: 83 GF, 32 GA, CF%: 58.0
2022-23: Dube (47 points) - Lindholm (64 points) - Toffoli (73 points)
Line details: 23 GF, 20 GA, CF%: 57.1
2023-24: Huberdeau (6 points) - Lindholm (8 points, 55 point pace) - Mangiapane (7 points)
Line details: 5 GF, 3 GA, CF%: 58.9
If you take Lindholm's current point pace, and he plays 82 games this season:
21/22: 82 points
22:23: 64 points
23/24: 55 points
Lindholm isn't good enough to be a top-tier #1 centre in this league, and I don't think we should be worried about finding the right player to play with him.
Flames should also absolutely not be looking to extend him to a big UFA contract. He is actively already trending down, and he's not even 30 yet. Lindy isn't a offence driving #1 centre.
