Yep, person "A" who was here for 8 months was the one who wanted to stay as compared to person "B" who was here for 8 years, was a rock star pro athlete, had tons of friends, teammates, was a fixture in the community, knew the city, just had the best year of his professional career, could've broken all the franchise records, best team in the division, best line in the NHL, historic type season, $84M contract on the table, all kinds of trophy considerations and recognition.
I mean, just from a motivation standpoint. Why would person "B" ever want to leave? Person "B" had everything from both a personal, financial and career standpoint, he also saw his family all the time on road trips, all star games, annual visits, offseason. Like, how is it even remotely close between person "A" vs person "B"?
