Dude, whoever the sources are, they're wrong. Go ask Derek Wills, Pat Steinberg or anyone close to the team, they didn't want to completely throw her under the bus, but the truth was obvious.
I don't know why people think she loved Calgary so much. She lived here for like 8 months mostly during the cold and the snow with sunsets before 5:00. Not to mention the pregnancy, all the friends and family she left behind and her job and the life she had built back in Eastern USA. Honestly, what could she have possibly loved in her situation especially with her husband being on the road for half the season? I just don't see any motive.
That car ride story very much fits with the motivations. Johnny was probably the only reason why Calgary was still in the picture. She probably thought about it, thought about another of those 8 months x 8 years and said nope. Johnny calls back tearfully and says he can't sign. I mean, it's all right there and honestly, I don't even blame her one bit either as a lot of people would feel the same way.
