really re: your last part? I didn't realize that, Maritime. I heard it was because of all the birds that would fly in. There are birds sitting on the balcony ledges/fencing all the time. (and its definately not chicken wire there, its full fledge metal fence stuff - whatever you call that. name escapes me at the momment).
