Ya I think the Secret Wars story line can serve as a soft reboot, they do this all the time in the comics as we know. Crisis on Infinite Earth brought back Arthur as Aquaman who was killed off, and I think that was when Hal returned as GL after his stint as Paralex/Spectre?
Been a while since I read that line. But anyway, these events are a pallet cleanser. Marvel will have a chance to right the ship. Now if they choose to do it or not is another thing I guess.. but recent reviews/box office numbers suggest they will be eager to get back to the more mainstream, popular characters.
If this is the way they are able to bring an existing X-Men team into the MCU without having to do another large origin story though, I am all for it.
There are so many good story lines they could follow with them, I am excited for that part at least. Plus we haven't even met FF/Dr. Doom yet.
They just need to realign with what made them popular in the first place, and not forget who forms the bulk of their audience.
