Not letting him go is the ultimate head scratcher. You don't want to make an example of anyone but there was nothing he did based on the results, that could justify keeping him. Only thing I can think of is his affiliation with Vlad, which would indicate they're looking to keep Vlad around. I think they're going the wrong direction with a move like this. Certainly you want to treat your players well, but give him a psychiatrist to work with. If other players see Vlad getting a free pass from the coaches or special attention, that's not good for morale. Everyone should be supported the same. Very very odd move by the Jays.
