Is that really a fair comparison? Columbus managed to get LA to RETAIN on Provorov, and also acquire the rights to Severson to give him that extra year to bring the cap number lower. Provorov has term and Columbus, with an already good prospect pool, felt they could afford to pay a 1st to get their defense better. I guess Gudbranson wasn't cutting it lol.
Like I said I could see Hanifin as a good trading piece but for a contender and not for Philly. I don't mind Konecny or the return posted above, but a third-party team would need to come in to give Philly the assets. There would have to be some serious contractual talks between Philly and Hanifin for Hanifin to consider signing there for 8 years. I think personally if I was Hanifin I would test the waters of free agency, see what team out there would give me the best deal. For Calgary's sake, just focus on getting the best return contending or no contending team, but most likely a contending team. I think Treliving is still going to go for him.
