I have significantly more faith that Gaudreau would turn his game around here, than Huberdeau suddenly figuring it out. As pathetic as this deal would be if it came to fruition, I think Gaudreau would be welcomed back here with open arms in this city. I sincerly believe that Gaudreau's departure was 100% pressure from family and he would have re-signed here if those around him had left him to choose on his own. Pity it happened how it did.

Huberdeau is on the verge of becoming this city's whipping boy any day now, and it's going to get very very ugly when it does happens. I legit feel bad for the guy if he doesn't turn his game around. I like the guy as a person. But man, he just sucks at literally everything on the ice. He is straight up...bad.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I've watched him a lot in both places and he's a completely different player here. I have no idea why. I think style of play is a factor, but it's definitely not the entire reason for his drop in production...or just effectiveness on the ice. I cannot fathom what happened to him.

I don't blame people for hating on Huberdeau, but there is an elite playmaker in there just waiting to be unlocked. I know people won't believe me, but he cares about winning. I don't know about Gaudreau as much.

Both players are going to be boat anchors for their respective teams going forward, but I think Huberdeau commits more to all aspects of the game than Gaudreau does. That and he's very loyal. He commits full force to a city and a team.

I think Huberdeau can and should try so much harder, but I also think it's possible he's adjusting to Huska's system the way everyone else is and struggling to have fluidity on offense as a result. It's not like he's the only guy struggling to score.

I just can't get past how Gaudreau left. You saw how stunned Treliving's face was when he had to announce that they weren't signing Gaudreau. He didn't deal in good faith with this team, and I want no part of that again.
