I'm sure some of this has to do with growing up in Northern Alberta and working in northern areas as well. It's bad enough now with the time change, not getting light until after 9am. Without the change it would be more like 10am.

I'm the complete opposite. I'd rather head into work in darkness knowing that the sun is going to come up and brighten my work day with something to look forward to. It also feels like you are getting a head start on things.
I hate commuting home in the dark when I'm tired and depressed. It makes you feel like you stayed at work too late and you are doing overtime.
I think I'm going to switch to half days at the office just so I can leave while the sun is still up.
