Unfortunately, yep.
Back in 2021, somehow we got wind it was "National Fried Chicken Day" (July 6th, BTW) and thought "what a good excuse to get some chicken"... Since it was mid-COVID, we thought it would be best to support local, so I head to the (now former) Cluck and Cleaver in the West Springs Co-Op... $120+++ later, I had my dinner for my family to mark the occasion... and that was the last time I went to Cluck and Cleaver.
I suppose I wasn't the only one that felt that way, as they've now vacated Co-Op... Salt in the wound is the KFC across the street that will give you more food for 1/3 of the price, kinda like a single meal at KFC would probably be ~$8 instead of $25... granted, KFC's quality falls short, but not that short.
I'm all for supporting independent, local businesses over a chain, but if your business model means you need to charge 3X what the market perceives to be the going rate, perhaps you should reconsider your business... Or the market will make that decision for you.
