Those are pretty bold moves to make for a team that almost won 60 games. But it worked and they went all the way to the Stanley Cup finals beating some really good teams in the process. Personally, I think the Flames could’ve been the Florida Panthers of the west last year, we played well against the good teams last year, but we just didn’t get good enough performances from the goaltending and game breaking side to get us over the hump.

They also should have missed the playoffs and had the greatest statistical goalie performance in the history of the league. (ask noodles, not my numbers) The second the goaltending came back to earth they lost the finals by 20 goals or whatever.
