The changes to the Flames playstyle haven't really transpired as yet. It's been a grind changing systems and getting everyone onboard. Wouldn't be surprised if this team doesn't start clicking (if at all) until 30-35 games into the season and by that time, it might already be too late for the season.

This is why teams prefer to fire coaches during the season so they can iron out the kinks and work on systems the remainder of the season under a new coach. Example is the Vancouver Canucks off to a much better start this year. You can say this is due to Pettersson, Hughes etc being better players but the team also started changing systems and adjusting to life under Rick Tocchet last year.
