Netanyahu had been using any means necessary to keep himself from facing the music for his blatant corruption and embezzlement.
He used Hamas for a long time to prop up his support since he's been telling everyone "he is the only one that can keep security in the region" but Oct 7 has destroyed the illusion of his security competence. Israelis are angry and he will not survive politically after the war.
