Not a fan of either hire but it's a little early to bring out the pitchforks. That said the organization is exactly the same as it was last year outside of two people out (Treliving, Sutter) and one (Savard) in so I wouldn't expect a huge shift in how the team operates and how they evaluate amateur and pro talent. It's likely the next GM probably walks into a better situation than Conroy inherited as he's kind of stuck with a losing hand.
