Well that's a depressing thought.
I guess for Montreal, they would get francophone players, which they value.
In the Huberdeau trade they would be moving 12M in bad contracts for 10.5M in a bad contract. Also, there has to be at least some chance that Huberdeau could bounce back to a point per game player in a new situation. If they don't think this is possible, then yeah, not much chance of this happening.
As for Pelletier, I would hope that one of the Flames top prospects, who they drafted with a first round pick and has now developed into an NHL ready player, would be worth a first two years from now.
