I still maintain that we will learn what this team is between games 10 and 20 on the season. Once you hit that quarter game mark, if you aren't near a playoff spot by then, the team will have a tough time making up ground. This start is definitely making those who spoke about last season not being an outlier look correct.
As much as people appear frustrated, it may be a blessing long-term that they have not started out of the gate strong. If they came out super strong and were riding high, then there is more incentive for management to keep this team together as opposed to making significant changes to a core that does not appear to have any chemistry. Lindholm is a great player but why pay him $9M+ if he has little chemistry with your other top players?
I'm not sure that a rebuild will ever happen, but the Flames have done significant retools in the past and we may be looking at one shortly unless they can really get on a roll in before game 20.
