It seems like, when Gaudreau left and Tkachuk was going to flee, that Tre realized that the team was going to be missing two key puzzle pieces. So he raided two puzzle pieces that seemed like they’d fit from totally different puzzles but they just don’t fit.
I don’t know if there is a good solution. Having two massive liabilities on your books for another 5 and 7 years after this season is a big problem. I strongly urge Conroy to avoid adding potential long term liabilities like Lindholm. I like the player but I’m not sure, that without playing with superstars, that he is a whole lot more than the 22 goal scorer that we had last year and paying him $9m+ for another 8 years just compounds the issue.
