I think people on this forum, who probably should be considered hard core fans, represent only a portion of the fan base. There are more casual fans, or not necessarily fans at all, of the team in Calgary. Rebuilding is sexy as hell to the hardcore fans but I think the organization knows full well that attendance would take a significant hit for an undetermined amount of time. I’m no economist but I suspect there’s good reason why the Flames have historically avoided rebuilding.
