It at least has been mentioned that the Flames would like Wolf playing NHL games. In my opinion he is down strictly because of his contract status.
To reference the 6 goal outburst, which actually was a win in a back to back (wolf played both), every goalie has games in every league where they will let in 4,5,6 goals as I'm sure you know. Context and shot difficulty (most of which were direct one timers in the slot or slot chances) provides a lot of information to the quality of the 6 goals if you were to watch the game. His stats were .850 compared to 0.800 by Vladar in the last 6 goal game.
Anyway, I don't actually necessarily disagree with you with the point I THINK you are trying to make which I THINK is that you don't think Wolf will actually fix anything. He is unproven and unknown at the NHL level. I think people see his eventual potential and if he performs even close to his AHL caliber stats, the NHL team would be in a better spot then what Vladar has shown in the NHL recently.
