Laine was already bent over because he was taking a shot. If you watch the replay the only real movement he has a chance to make before taking the hit was tilting his head away from the incoming forearm. Would have been a bad move for Laine to lean into a hit that was already targeting his head.
From 4-5 seconds in the video its pretty clear Laine didn't make a dramatic repositioning of his body.
