There is a difference between your feet leaving the ice because of the hit and the hitter launching to make the hit. Rasmus didn’t end up in the air because of the physics of the hit.
I’m ok with playing to the final whistle though and finishing a check. You could argue he thought Laine was going to continue carrying the puck. Of course he sticks out his arm as part of the hit clearly after he knows the puck is gone.
It’s just funny how hockey players seem to have a little less respect for each other than other athletes. The game is out of reach, it would be sweet if no one got injured. This is their livelihood after all.
