Last night I noticed 1.) Dark Harvest exists as a movie, and 2.) it's on Prime. I had no idea it was a thing.
I read the book in 2007ish and it was surprisingly fantastic. The book's quite short, and author Norman Partridge's style of writing is interesting in that he writes in the second person, which gives the story a sense of urgency that pervades throughout the entire book. It has this hard-boiled pulp fiction feel to it, while slipping in some subtext about growing up as a boy in America. And it pulls off spooky.
The movie trailer is quite uninspiring, but I'll give the film a watch this weekend. Just thought I'd alert you all to a great book you ought to read, and possibly a really ####ty movie.
