It's mad. They actually bucked that trend that plagues so many artists.

Usually bands of that era put out their best work in the their first 2 or 3 albums and then see a steady decline in quality and lose the "it" factor that made them great and comebacks tend to generally be soulless and quickly forgotten.

Somehow they pulled an inspired album out of nowhere on their second comeback. Guess Mark's cancer scare got them to set aside their differences finally and collaborate on the music and it's evident.
