I actually coach hockey and still don’t know the correct answer to this quandary:
When you’re shouting on a goalie are you using them as the visual shooting target or the net?
For instance, if you decide you’re going high glove, are you picking the visual target as just over his shoulder, or just under the bar in the net?
You would think it’s the latter, as it’s where the puck needs to end up, but if you’re putting in golf you’re supposed to pick a spot not far infront of the ball to help stay on line, and beating the goalie is what matters to make it a successful shot.
Curious what the takes are here, or what strategy the most successful shooters employ.
