The problem is that both sides have been pushed to more extreme positions because of the mutual fear and hatred, I would say that the Palestine side has always been further on that curve than the Israeli but that is because they lost everything where as Israel gained, at this point if Israel gave up land to create a 2 state solution it would still take decades for the Palestinian side to stop hating and attacking them and by giving up land Israel makes itself more venerable to attack so it is an impossible ask for them.
Any Palestinian leader who negotiates with Israel is equally seen as a traitor and a Hamas or ISIS type group will over throw them, there just isnt a solution that I can see short of one side winning utterly
