Logically yes but it's not how things work in reality. Players get eight year deals that almost always are bad at the end, especially if you sign them at 30. Plus there is always risk, quite a lot actually if you are betting on being healthy at 35 and getting another three year deal. There is no "justifying" of the latter part of the deal being bad.
