The team knows what it has in Lindholm. That said, it is another data point. A valuable one. The team doesn't know if Huberdeau and Lindholm can be a duo 5 on 5. We don't know how much of an outlier last year was. A miserable team + a different role on the PP + first kid. We don't know if Lindholm made Toffoli have a career year, or if it was all Toffoli.
Lindholm himself said that he thinks he can be a lot better. The 1st game of the year showed me a level of compete I haven't seen from Lindholm in a while. He was definitely a top player that game, and he stood out like a top player.
Finally, if you think the team has all the data already, and they have a lot more data than we do, then their assessment of Lindholm's value is much better than ours.
