I had a recipe that required one single potato and I had no time so I dashed over to the neighborhood Superstore.

I bought one single baking potato at Superstore, the price was listed as $2.49/lb on the sign or $5.05/kg at the till (another way to make the price seem cheaper on the sticker). The ONE FREAKING POTATO COST ME $2.45

I know I can buy a large bag of potatoes at Costco for a better price but this is ridiculous when picking up loose vegetables at the grocery store gouges you this way.

It would be cheaper for me to buy a bag of frozen french fries than take the raw potato and turn it into french fries.
