I will grant you that the Astros are exceptional in building teams to win post season baseball and come up with strategies to win that style of game. I also think they have made sure they have the talent to execute those plans too. So there is a relationship in knowing what you need and going out and filling that need.
They're not like the Mets who seem to randomly sign anyone for whatever amount. They're better than the Dodgers at winning post season baseball and better planning and preparation likely are why. At this time, they're more experienced than Baltimore, Tampa, and Texas and have talent to cover the key areas. Tampa is likely to always be overcoming a talent gap and we will find out if Texas or Baltimore learn and improve.
