Sabres sign Owen Power (7 years, $8.35m AAV)
Seems like another good signing. Can anyone think of an example when signing a young player that’s projected to be a star player in the NHL ended up being a bad move? I honestly can’t think of any examples off the top of my head.
However, there are numerous examples where signing a young player to a bridge deal ended up being a mistake because they ended up costing a lot more later or they ended up leaving the organization earlier than they could have had they been signed long term.
