Mrazek showed me something last season, and it continued tonight, he will battle. As far as the 'Hawk D being a hot mess, well, they have Korchinski, a 19yo, Kaiser, 21, and Vlasic, 22 out there, two of them paired with pylons in Tinordi and Murphy, and the 3rd, paired with offensive minded S. Jones.

I am hating having to not boo Corey Perry, but, I do admire some of our bottom line guys. Guttman seems to have some scoring touch, Katouk wins board battles, and few 4th lines can match Athanaseou's speed.

This roster has been built with quite a few forwards that won't be around for more than a season, Perry, Foligno, Donato. And a few guys like Hall, who, if he has any success will be attractive to buyers at the trade deadline. Raddysh and Dickenson, have both shown some grit. And I am not sold of T. Johnson, he might be another piece for deadline dealing.

Scratched tonight was McKenzie Entwistle, who I have grown to like. He is another middle line grinder, that I feel will get more active time as the season progresses. Scratched Reese Johnson will pass as the 'Hawks enforcer when they start to play heavier rivals. I would rather take our lumps with the young D men, than see them displaced for Zaitsev, but if he is rotated with one of the older pylons, I am okay with that.

Kurashev is out, hurt, and he would be a fixture on the 2nd line and PP2, when he returns, I expect for Katouk's roster spot.
