In a parallel universe Gaza is the Monaco or Singapore of the Middle East. There’s an elevated freeway across the Negev Desert with high speed rail and power and water to the West Bank, which has free trade with Israel.
This was not some fantasy. It was the actual plan of not any Palestinian leader, but Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres.
I genuinely feel for the people of Gaza as well who live under the brutal fist of Hamas. They have never had any choice in the matter. I suspect the overwhelming majority would support coexistence with Israel and wish Hamas never existed.
