To me this is probably an Endeavour call.

They haven't shied away from big personalities that aren't always the easiest to deal with in the UFC - especially if it makes them money.

I'm sure they saw the lift CM Punk did give UFC, and will think that they have the structure to ensure it's not inmates running the aslyum.

Used in the right way I think he will help them - the CM Punk fans from AEW will come back over, and really the hardcore AEW fans probably have even less reason to ever watch WWE now lol.

But yeah none of this face CM Punk from AEW - have him come back as an absolute heel with like a "Savior of Wrestling" type of gimmick.

Plus it would be hilarious for CM Punk to come back thinking it means he's the headliner of Sunday night of Wrestlemania...only to have The Rock come back again and take the Sunday night spot with Roman Reigns.
