I think the most questionable decision for me was making Sabine a Force user. There was something cool about showing that the Mandalorian's didn't need the force to battle the Jedi, though as Kanan said "News flash, you lost that war".

Having someone that had to use guile and firepower to knock off a jedi was cool to me, and having Sabine as someone that was sneaky and cocky and could fix a problem in the real world just works.

We saw what happened though when Sabine took a shot at someone like Vader.

Instead they made her force sensitive to solve some problems at the end of season one and to create angst with Ahsoka that was really kind of unnecessary.

I don't mind if they're bringing Abeloth in to the Disney Canon. The problem in the legends EU is that so many writers used the Jedi and the force as the ultimate out to writing problems. Have a huge imperial fleet with a super star destroyer at its head attacking the Jedi academy, have a bunch of students mutter "Size Matters not" and push the fleet out of the system. Need to do something cool have a Jedi pull a Star Destroyer out of the sky.

So what's the solution, bring a force god in that over powers the mega powerful Luke and Skywalker family. And they did a decent job with Abeloth as a credible threat. She could walk between realities. The EU had their own world between worlds with the world beyond shadows. You could have Abeloth take shapes of other people and multiple people at the same time. Have her consume Force users. these were all there and they created a uber being that Luke couldn't defeat on his own.

I fully expect that if they do bring in Abeloth the logical thing would be that Baylan awakens her, and at some point she possesses Shin who becomes the big bad of the season. And this is speculations, but Ahsoka eventually becomes the sister figure Shin becomes the brother figure and Anakin becomes the father figure and the force gets balanced.

But that's just speculation.

Overall this was a mixed season, episode 7 and 8 were a mess. Rosario wasn't great, but its because I have expectations of the Ahsoka character based on TCW and Rebels. The actress that played Sabine was kinda wooden.

I loved the re-entry of Anakin who has been redeeming himself with his performance of Anakin. MEW was great as Hera as was the training droid, and seeing Live action Chopper yes please all day long even though he was short of ahole moments.

I did like the continuation of the sneaky Imperials corrupting the Republic as well. I think that could be an interesting storyline on its own though it leads to the awful sequels.

I expect that next season will focus more on Ashoka and Sabine and Baylan and Shin and leave the Ezra republic stuff of another series or movie.
