Some major cracks in the Liberal Party, with a likely soon to be "ex" Liberal MP siding with the Conservatives on repealing all carbon taxes (the 2nd time he has done so recently).

Good for Ken McDonald in working and standing up for his constituents of Avalon Newfoundland versus toing the partisan line that is detrimental. He's made the news recently as a backbencher for speaking out about issues hurting Newfoundlanders. Is he perhaps planning to cross the floor?

"I think we have to come up with some policies and some programs that help to ease the pain of what people are facing today," McDonald told CBC News.

"That's something that happens regularly. And I don't know if the best-before date is gone, yet, on the Liberal Party. But it's getting there if Canadians are not seeing a break real soon."
Will others follow suit? Atlantic Canada in particular where locations are more rural has been hit extremely hard by the carbon tax, and what were once Liberal strongholds are falling behind and losing ground on the CPC. It's clear that Trudeau rules over his party like an autocracy (see Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott) so this type of breaking ranks at a time when Liberals are closing in on Ignatieff levels of support may cause further rupture.
