What's annoying is the potential that was there, but not exploited.
At episode 6 with all this exponential world building, they could've soared with these character arcs if they had leaned into that momentum. Instead they opted to keep the story small, safe, predictable, and like it was pulling punches creatively and sticking to a Disney formula.
They'd better make use of those Baylan scenes they filmed but didn't air here because Ray deserves to have all his work on this project experienced by the fans. He did so well.
