One of the things I love about BG3 is that stats matter. You can skip phases of fights or even entire fights depending on your successes in your conversational rolls.
I played a Ranger the first time around, with an abyssmal CHA. Combined with some bad roll luck, I had to fight EVERYTHING.
Next time around, I played a Bard. High CHA and luck in the rolls. You can talk half of Act 2 into not fighting or even killing itself for you. And all of the ways net you the same XP, so you don't have to go murderhobo. Pretty good work on their part.
