I think teams would love to have this as an available option, but it is probably not feasible because of the cap. And there's the trick with Phillips: I don't think there is any question that he can be effective in the NHL in open-ice situations, but in order for him to stick he is going to need to figure out how to become more indispensable 5-on-5.
