The mother is Abeloth from the Legends EU which is what this show seems to be pointing to.
It was an ok episode, that didn't resolve or push a strong cliff hanger element that makes you eager for next season.
They're never going to match the combat done in the animated shows even though the Maul Ashoka fight was done live action.
Overall this show almost felt like a series final then a season final. With Ashoka basically telling Sabine that Ezra is home, let it go.
