In general, I think there is a dangerous lack of consideration of other players' welfare and safety with tackles in the English game. While Jones may not have recklessly abandoned caution for the other player's safety and the probability of the actual outcome was low, it was still discernibly dangerous and put the other player at undue risk of serious injury. As such, I have to agree it should be a red even though it may seem a bit harsh.

While the ref was able to watch moving footage, I believe the issue was that the pitch-side TV he used to review the play was paused on Jones' foot on the other player's leg. It unnecessarily influences the ref's decision even if it they get it correct in the end.
